They look brilliant !!!!

I'm assuming they're Defender mirrors, so how do you fix them onto the car and what do the fixing points look like from inside.

There is a plastic cover on the inside of the std mirrors, can you use that so that it looks tidy inside, perhaps??

Pictures would be great as I think it's a storming idea :D:D:D

They are indeed standard defender jobbies. I'll post up a "how to" a bit later but it's a piece of **** really. I only did a quick job just to see if it would work so could have been a bit tidier but they work well it just takes a bit of getting used to being able to see behind:D

lol i hadnt noticed how crap the mirrors was until you put this up, im gunna have to get a set of defender ones now. i dont seem able to reverse using mine after you pointed out how **** they are.

Basically what I did was this. Removed the original mirror, replaced it with a piece of steel plate cut to size to which I bolted a defender mirror. The cover over the fixings on the inside of the door can go back on afterwards so it's all tidy inside. I didn't waste too much time making it look perfect but I'm sure you could with a little bit more effort. It works that's the main thing.

I like that HUGHSEY!! Quick and easy. You could go the other way as well. The later Discovery mirrors are a vast improvement as well, they fit with a little mod and if you pick up the correct switch and add a couple of wires they will move as well.

Do a search 200tdi - 300tdi mirrors as I posted the info here somewhere.

regards

Dave

I'm not bothered about the electrical movement bit. I only used to use it because the original mirrors were so bad that I was constantly adjusting them to try and see anything. I used some defender ones I had lying around and a bit of offcut steel so it didn't cost me anything but I reckon it's such a useful mod it would be worth paying a bit to have it.

not sure how deependers get away with it but I thought there was a 20cm overhang from the widest part of the body limit on mirrors and they look a little over that...
Never heard of that. They actually stick out from the body about 3/4 of an inch less than the original disco ones.
