As rewmer said it's the hevac knob with "auto" in the middle.
And where is the selonoid that locks the drivers door please.

Again, as posted, it's a motor built into the latch assembly.
And how do i go about taking the front passangers door inner panel off when there's no way to open the door (connecting rod fell off i beleve)

if the connecting rod to the latch from the exterior door handle has fell off, provided the other doors are unlocked and your latch is not superlocked, the interior handle should open the door as it's independently connected to the latch. In the highly unlikely event that both links have failed, wind the window fully down and try to operate the lever on the latch with a piece of stiff wire (old coathanger) or similar. Have a look on www.rangerovers.net for more info.
And where can i buy a haynes manual as the carshop only has up to a k reg in stock, and it was not listed in the cataloge.
