Hi All,

Does anyone know of any current part numbers for the universal joints for the above winches. One of my uj's are bolloxed (yokes worn) and in need of replacing but I cannot find any relevant part numbers. Apart from the ones in the manual. I spoke to the Superwinch technical support guy who quoted me £156 for ONE uj. Fook that.
Any help folks would be greatly appreciated.

think a mate of mine said he used ford transit steering linkage uj's (with a slight mod ;)
although if its anything like how much they charge for a door mirror be cheaper to go to fairy  well over £100 our sprinter it cost about £45

My arse fell through with the quote I was given. I'm going to the local motor factors tomorrow, they said they will try and measure up one to match mine. Would a steering uj be strong enough for a winch? I was a bit unsure weather it would stand up to the stresses of a winch.

Will do. Was that part number for the yokes too because that's the bit I'm after? I can get most if not all the parts from Superwinch, the downside on that is I would need to sell the landy to fund it. The part numbers from Superwinch must be for their reference only.

That's the part number for the u/j. If you go to a garden machinery or tractor place they should be able to locate the yokes to match that u/j once they know the u/j part number

I know its an American site but it may be of some use. Particually for you Ratty, they do a hexagon yoke as you wanted. Might be of use, might not. Best I've found so far. Hens teeth and the like...

There is a prop specialist on feeder road in Bristol called chards. They can get most parts and at a reasonable price if you want to give them a try. Nigel is usually the best one to speak to.

Cheers for that Ratty. I have found a local company who can supply a solid yoke of the correct size for under £30. A engineering firm has quoted me £25 to bore it out and fit a keyway.
With regards to your hexagon shaft and yoke Ratty, have you thought about getting a normal round yoke with a keyway and machining the end of a hex bar to 19mm dia with a keyway to fit the yoke? I've tried to find a hex yoke in the uk but not had much luck.

On a 110 the props usually have a sliding joint which is hex bar on one end and a keyway on the other. I was figuring that if I could have hex at both ends it'd make it much cheaper and quicker to replace in the event of a failure.

I have just had a look at the winch manual for yours and its pretty much the same as mine. I have just picked up two new solid yokes (£25.76+vat ea) from a company called GKN Driveline Services Ltd in Leek, Staffordshire. Really helpful people too. I spoke to them about your sliding joint (took mine as an example) and he said to re-manufacture one a ball park figure was around £100. Give them a call (ask for Andy, he's the person who I spoke to about it)
They manufacture all types of props, cv joints, hydraulic rams etc.
