I find hard to believe that my Discovery 2 does not have an external temp sensor or am I missing something?

Do u have an internal/external temp display and it's only showing the internal display? then you are missing something... an external sensor

On my 51 plate disco, fitted with climate control, you have to press the 'EXT' button on the control panel and the outside temp is displayed for a few seconds.
