Snorkel and breather kit and then start laning and adding things as you need.
You'll prob end up with a 2" lift and some 265/75 MT's.
Steering guard (ideally with recovery points) and a diff guard and your sorted.

I've got the guards sorted, i made sure the steering guard had recovery points.

Would you say Mts over all terrain? I use the disco for commuting to work, its a massive 10 mile drive!

AT's are good at everything masters of nothing.
I brought them for my old Disco and regretted it, but then it ended up as a toy.
They will be fine on lanes but could limit you on P&P days.

If it were me I would keep the existing tyres and get used to the Disco and see what you want to do with it. Road tyres will work for 95% of the lanes around here.

Get Mts. If your laning locally it'll be clay soil that will block At treads easily. You wont regret it.

Why don't you tag along on the 28th laning day have a chat and see what others have or recommend, but as Nick said breathers, snorkel first, and some recovery straps and shackles.

Cheers for the offer of tagging along on the 28th, unfortunately I'm working :( although I'm normally about most weekends and evenings so i should be around for the next one if the offers there.

Sounds like I might have to rethink the all terrains then if everyone is suggesting MT. Not a lot of point in buying something that I'm likely to want to change fairly quickly, especially as i will be laning locally. Is there a big difference driving on the road between the two?

Safari snorkel the best bet to go for?

Here she is, looking all innocent and unmodified.

That looks like a clean one.

I wonder how much longer before all the origional straight ones have all been converted for off road abuse... :(

Beat me too it I could do with a new one of them lol

As said before Dan I'll take everything for manual gearbox conversion plus the drivers side rear window arm if it's the same as mine.
