Essex lanes

Went to Yorkshire a couple of weeks ago and returned with this little gem.....



Took it laning following week and it did well

Well not sure at the moment. Original plan was to bobtail it, fit 35" tyres and turn it into a serious offroader. But the time and money involved and the fact I really want to build my Astra this year and get a morgage means I may just leave it as it is and use it as a daily and a tow car. Then I'll break Tiny once the tax runs out in May.

Got till the end of next month when the tax runs out on the 3 door to decide.

Well new Landy is off the road for a few days. Changed the coolant today and after taking it for a test drive and having Mike check it over we are 99% sure the headgasket has gone. Mate reckoned it overheated a few days ago so must have been what caused it.
Gonna whip the head off tomrrow and check the blocks ok and asuming it is just change the gasket and everything will be well again.
Anyone know if I need to change the head bolts aswell?

For the sake of the price of head bolts, is it worth not doing them??

thats strange the are waterproof to a degree, I know from bitter experience as i sunk mine and the ecu was not only under water it was full, garage opened it cleaned it and has been fine since.

Not a lot going on with me...........broken a few things, fix a few things.......but a few of us are doing salisbury plains on 14th 15th. Give wickford 90 a shout if you want to come along.

Hi gents back myself after a little time off hope everyone's well

Good to see ya back johny hope alls well with you ,been away from the forum myself for a while, missus had another op on her arm to stop it dislocating so I been stuck wit the ankle bitters
Any way little man is iching to go out lanning, got me lurrrvly new kumho tyres and the old girl hasnt moved in months and especially with this great weather we are having lately maybe arrange a days laning for a sunday if Anybody is up for it?

Welcome back Jonny and Ian, I just got back myself, due to a few things going on, I still got a few issues with the Disco as well, but hey ho, life goes on.

I am not about laneing at the mo but will be at newbourne on sunday, prob be mid morning when I get there.

I am up for that, is anyone about for some laning this weekend?

I'm expecting someone down on Saturday to pick up some bits that will render my Landy, unroadworthy.

If he don't show then i'm up for a last trip out in old faithful this Sunday.

or, alternate suggestion, is anyone up for a lane around this evening on this beautiful day?
