S'up dude??

I went with a small specialist company in the end - Noel Dazely - similar landy insurance to the people you were with before: www.noeldazely.co.uk/

That is of course if that's the problem!

Spike

We lets say, the companys I have phoned , they include Adrian Flux, Lancaster, Surterm ( the guy at sure time was so unhelpful and had an attitude), ect..... beleive me I tried them all.....been on the for phone hrs. they all will not now take my years of company car driving into consideration.....

I have had 2 fault claims in five years, so they hitting me for that, they wil not cover Rover Rescue work either, so will have to take Business out for that.....:eek:

Lancaster phoned me back and said they were not intersted because of the Mod's and the age of the thing...:eek:

Sure time said they did not want to know because of the 2 fault accidents..:eek:

Adrian Flux £970.00 that's if i pay it in one hit 5000 miles no Rover Rescue, if i want to pay over 10 months and get 2 free months its about £110 per month and a £120 deposit.... hows the two months free....?????.

NFU will give me cover for £1100, 12000 miles, with business cover which will cover me for Rover Rescue but i can pay the in equal payments no charge..

Thought my renewal for the Daytona was bad this year at £290....

so at the mo the things off the road....:(:(

so thanks for that Spike I'll give them a call....

**** me thats bad Stu. Flux came up trumps for me, maybe I'll find out they've quoted my on a broken Metro lol.

have you got a No caims discount tho..... as I say they will not take company car in to the consideration now, so I have NO no claims discount to be had..............:mad::mad::mad:

Oh we I got to go soon as I got to get round The kids to watch the England Match with Edward

I just use Adrian flux at £245 I didnt bother ringing round.

I hope this other company go easy on ya.

I did not realise rover rescue would be considered separately. I wonder if all this help that landy owners give mere mortal car drivers in the snow is covered?

The answer to Adrian Flux is , is your mileage limited, mod'd, is it on there a s a second car, and do you have a no claims bonus you can use on it......and any claims in the last five years...

As far as Rover Rescue goes, your not doing Rover Rescue just pulling out car owners..... you get despatched a job and it is logged which means you are covered by their public libity, but you have to cover your Landy with your insurance, I think that most insurances would except it if you declared you were doing RR, bit it looks like now they will not, and you have to have business use...

I would say that If your towing someone, your more then likey NOT insured, so liable personally for damage/injury, I cant see the insurance company's volantering to cover you for anything .....

Hey, hey!!

Chassis is back. Thanks to mike, chris, david and me + whoever the guy was I bought it off :D

Oh - there is some veggie oil up at the barn for Chris and/or Mike, whoever gets it first  Or you can be gentleman and let mike have it for being out of bed at such an un-godly hour :p

Lets pretend it wasn't a nissan that towed the chassis back, instead it is a depender pulling the trailer

Both photos show chassis. Almost mint condition, only got 2 plates to put in that I can see where the rollbar mounts have been half cut off. And then obviously the engine mount to chassis tabs need re-positioning.

It is going on the back of our lorry to the shotblasters on Monday then will be collected wednesday or thursday ready for a few mods before galv'ing

Update soon :alien:

Glad to see the new chassis was ok mate your now going to practically have a brand new land rover:)

Bollix bollix and more bollix had a **** day:mad:, went and snapped the injector clamp stud in the head on cylinder no 1, spent all afternoon slowly drilling it out and then managed to get and easy out on it and removed it:),but slightly damaged the thread on one side but on inspection I should be able to get a new stud in deeper as there is plenty of thread left under where the original stud stopped, so looks like I'm going to miss peterborough tomorrow:mad:Never mind hope to have the old girl running again tomorrow.

Stu mine was on a limited mileage policy of 5K a year with 0 NCB and all mods declared - £228 fully comp
Asked for a quote on a Disco II 2003 worth £8500, 16,000 miles a year, re-map, exhaust, snorkel, 0 NCB and 2 claims against me and they came back with £365 fully comp. Like I said I must have got lucky.

Mikey should get any bonus for being up early as he had too for work anyway lol! Plus I'm skint!

I was just looking to insure a 53 disco today to get to work and back if I start this new job. £475 fully comp, 25,000 miles a year  Modded to anything I like unless it changes engine spec :D

I've got heli coils if you need them wangie :)

Cheers matt might be ok, the original stud only went in about a centermeter and there looks like about 2cm depth in the hole so hopefully I will be able to get some m8 studed rod down deep enough with some thread lock it should be ok, if not I'll give ya a shout.
