Engine wieght

I want to rebuild the origonal engine on me IIa. I want to buy an engine stand but need to know the wieght of the engine. When I move the lump last with 4 mates, we nearly got extra testicles. Does any one know the wieght of these 4 cylinder Petrol engines? I was surprised how heavy these realatively small engines are.

off the top of me head a gnats over 200kg when empty

250-300kg would be my guess.

450 lbs or about 204 kilo.

Let's put itthis way as ong as you dontbuy the cheapest stand out there then you will be fine
Most stands will hold half a ton (500kg)
That's 1 hell of a lump
