hello

has anyone got any idea how heavy a 1.8 freelander engine is??? need to send one over to spain for a mate and we been quoted £300 on esitmated weight of 250 kg, its just the block, head and injector manifold, if i can find the weight out might make the difference of £150 on post?

any ideas or point to right direction greatfully recieved

cheers

H there me and my lad swapped one of these for his Metro no way are they any where near 250 kg more like 35 to 50 top's so that should cheaper.

drive to local scrapyard get weighed then return home and load engine into vehicle and reurn to scrappies. prob cost ya a fiver to get weighed but worth it to save £150.

you must have a public weighbridge somehwere near you and they will give a weigh ticket before and after, tyhink my local 1 costs £15/20

well my local 1 (local builders merchants) i can just drive in stop on the bridge get out look at the digi display outside on the wall, get back in and drive off
