Disco 1 Electric fuel pump 300tdi ?

My 1997 300tdi stopped running, it turns over ....no start...it has an immobiliser and prior to stopping it had a fuel pump noise, which now seems to have disappeared? I have asked around repairers in New Zealand where I live and I cant find any local knowledge...did the d1 have a pump and if so where would I find it...the closest I got was a fuel potentiomater....but no confirmation..any thoughts would be welcomed

Only the petrol engine when fitted to the D1 has a electric fuel pump in the tank.
