Hi Guys I am looking to replace my viscous fan in my 300tdi with an electric fan
My idea to keep things nice an tidy under the bonnet is to get a 16 inch fan and fit this inside the radiator cowel this way my thoughts are that i will get even flow through all the radiator and intercooler. Has any one tried this. Also I have seen some new ones for around £25 on the web has anyone bought one of these and if so some feedback would be helpfull on the quality/performance.

UNIVERSAL 12V 120W 16" ELECTRIC COOLING RADIATOR FAN | eBay

I managed to get a 16" pacet fan second hand from ebay with wiring kit. Havent got round to fitting mine yet(might do that tomorrow actually).

You will need a way for the fan to kick in and out with the temp of the engine also. Either the probe thermostat that goes down the radiator tube(notoriously hard to seal) or do what i have and buy an Xeng (x-eng.co.uk) thermostat kit. You basically cut a couple of inches out of your rad hose and insert an aluminium piece that has a thread in the side for a thermostatic coupler that closes to complete a circuit when it gets hot enough.

There is plenty info on fitting on google. Try googling "Electric fan landrover instal" or similar.
