just on my way to land rover to get my eka code, has anybody ever had to use this before? any hints or tips for me?
also, will my key remote work as before once i have entered the code?, or will i need a new one?
thanks.

hi, in the article you sent me gav, it says i have to get out of my car, with everything shut, then turn my key in the drivers lock to the lock position 4 times to get my alarm to beep and accept the code.
however, my car was locked with the fob and alarm set as usual with no problems, only when i returned to it did the problem exsist.
so does the above still apply, turning to lock 4 times? as my car is already locked and alarmed.
thanks.

unlock with key, then lock 4 times
dont forget to listen for the beep to signal entry of code!

note to enter eka code, everything needs to be shut but unlocked. It will not accept the code if the doors anr not unlocked. I spent ages trying, until LR told me.

still having trouble, cant get it to beep, ready to accept the eka code.
tried turning it to unlock 4 times but no beep. also tried it to the unlock side aswell.
anybody any ideas?
i cant unlock the other doors either, so only the drivers door is unlocked.

If all the other doors are locked, unlock each of them manually, then close thr drivers door.
the first turn to lock with the key when entering the 4 lock turns will then lock all the doors. Thiswill start the sequence off.

hi dave, just tried again to unlock the other 3 doors, but it wont let me pull the catch up or open them with the handle. weird eh?

Think i posted on your other post, but if the codes are successfully entered the existing key will work fine...

that sounds like its in super lock mode, this is where the car disables the door catch so it cannot be opened with a coat hanger etc from outside!!

if you put the key in the ignition turn to position 2 and then take off the battery lead then replace it. have someone in the car tho just incase!!

this might release the superlock mode!!

many thanks for all your help gav, as i said on the phone, a miraculous turn around, everything works now as before!

just wanted to post quickly to say the article in this post has help me out this morning so Thank you. Ive left my p38 for a few weeks and the batt went flat. Went to it this morning and it came up KEY CODE LOCK. Anyway long story short, ive charged the battery and looking through my history found a random 4 digit code on the cover of a book so entered as per article and it worked!!! Thanks again

Hi, my key died yesterday, new one ordered, used the eka,1 beep enter, did all the key inputs got the 2 beeps, drove home, tried it again at home , great no problems, left the ignition on ,went inside, came out battery was flat, recharged it, now it will not accept the code any more, getting only one beep at the end of the sequence, anybody able to help me? I know a land rover dealership may be able to fix it. Hez 07.

From what i remember, there are actually 2 different proceedures for entering an EKA code. IIRC, the earlier one requires no preperation sequence, but the later one does.

If you go to the Land Rover owners Manual site and ownload a 1995 and say a 2000 handbook and look at each you should see the difference.

Of course if a BeCM is replaced in an earlier Vehicle for the later one, typically no one updates the owners manual, potentially leaving someone with the wrong set of EKA entry instructions.

Any singally re printed set of instructions may therefore work in some cases but not in others.

Hope this helps
