I have a discovery 300tdi 1995. Have plated the EGR point on the manifold and want to totaly remove the EGR unit. I am told I can replace the the intercooler to manifold hose with one from a 200tdi and get rid of the EGR metalwork.
Can anyone confirm this please!!!

YES!!

I can confirm that you can junk the EGR valve and install a TDi200 top hose to go from the intercooler to the inlet manifold. Just remember to block off the vacuum pipe (at a convenient place) that goes between the EGR valve and the little solenoid thingy on the inner wing next to the jack, use either a ball bearing or a screw.

Yes yes.

hi just something I thought I'd mention if you remove all the egr stuff it will be obvious that the engine has been modified why not just insert a blanking plate and leave it at that if an insurance assessor ever has to check he will know straight away that its been modified and you know what there like anything undeclared will void insurance unless you intend to tell them!!!!
as for a smoother intake of air isn't the idea of a hiclone to disturb the air and increase power? so why make it a smoother intake?

if the question is ever asked which is unlikely- as far as you know that's how you thought it should be a previous owner must have put it on :)
hiclone- don't work there a con!!!
:D

yes I know you can say that but it is always better if the question never comes up because wether you knew or not it can still be awkward if you have ever sat with an insurance assessor getting quizzed on a claim you'll know what I mean they are like an interogator only they come across as a friend.........until they find an excuse not to pay.
