Just bypassed the EGR on my '03 Disco. Have to say I wouldn't class that as an easy job. Every bolt is a complete b**tard to get to. Here's my sequence of events:
1. Despite buying a good quality 5mm hex driver, promptly rounded bolt on exhaust EGR pipe flange. Great start. Since its got an EGR cooler, I decided to disconnect and blank at the other side of the cooler.
2. Dropped 8mm socket down side of battery. Magic. Ten minutes got it back with a magnetic screwdriver.
3. Get bolts off after repeated slashing of hands against fan blades.
4. Clamp on the carbon filament lamp breaks, it pings off the bonnet hood and smacks me on the napper. Swearing.
5. Tube stuck on EGR valve, copious wrenching and grinding to get off.
6. Refit everything, blank off vacuum tubes. Thank f**k that's done.
Haven't noticed that much of a difference actually. She definately *sounds* different. Slightly quicker pickup. Maybe my EGR was buggered anyway, but it was a bit manky. Picture attached tell me what you reckon.
