Hi all,
I've just blanked off the EGR on my TD5. Question is, do I need to dis-connect the vacuum pipe as well? Must say the performance seems to be better and my consumption also looks better although it's only the first tank since doing it.

Have you just blanked the EGR off, (where did you blank off - on the exhaust manifold or after the EGR valve) or, have you removed the pipework connecting the EGR to the air inlet pipe?

In either case the EGR valve is now redundant therefore the vacuum pipe needs disconnecting and blocking off

y dont u just go the whole way and remove the EGR completely Paul? it is just a big airflow restriction now. remove the vac pipe and u can also remove the elect actuator valve, but dont 4get 2 blank off the vac pipe at the t-piece on the main vac line that comes from the vac pump.
look here for the EGR removal kit, easy to have one made up.
