Called the garage today see when me mota wud be ready at 11.30 was told it was being refitted as we spoke and wud be ready for 3.00pm, called at 3 and the feckers told me they put the box back in and found the new pump had diff fitting so had to take the box back out and to call 2mora at lunch time, now call me daft if u like but they've had it since last weds and im sat ere ****ed off wondering how long does it take for an 'auto box specialist' to fit a feckin box? am i being unreasonable to expect it done sooner than a week?

I guess it's been sat there all week with nothing being done to it.. I think you're being totally reasonable but probably not the best time to kick off.. wait till they've finished buggering about with your motor and you've got the keys back..

yup, kept me gob shut and bin most polite.... but it hurts , they told me last wednesday they'd try and get it done by the w/e... **** happends, shud av it back 2 mora.. ermm better have it back 2mora

Called em this morning 12.30 and was told me disco was on a road test and was told to call back in 10mins.. i thought great be able to get it soon, called back 20 mins to be told they aint happy with 2nd to 3rd gear change and they're looking at it.... now excuse me for being thick but im paying em nearly a grand to rebuild and refit my box ffs and its beginning to annoy me shudnt a rebuilt box be just that? rebuilt? as in like new? (ish)

4.30pm, told the same...2nd to 3rd... may fit another box, maybe be done 2mora

I think that sometimes it pays to visit them to actually see the state of play,and see if it is bull****

Of course ALL garages are rip off merchants,working on simple things such as modern cars.......
I think I'd be pleased that they are trying to get it right for you.

Yep, but the point is the excuses, theyve put '2 new boxes in' and it may be ready 2mora dependind on road test

tough call tha.. they obviously trying to do the best job they can for you but at the same time it's taking far longer than they told you .. so unless they are just blagging cos you can't see them sitting around drinking tea and watching porn then either they give it back when you want it and **** you off cos it aint right or they keep you hanging on and **** you off for a bit while they get it right and wait for you to go round telling everyone how great their work is...

Thats the problem with rebuilding Auto boxes they ARE rocket sciene.

Got a call this morning 9.00am 'your cars ready sir' great i thort then he said that'll be 950 + vat... plus vat? reminded him of the phone call last week before i took mota in when i asked if there was any hidden charges i.e t/c oil cooler etc etc and i said ' so i bring me mota in-you fix it-i give u 950 and drive away the reply was yes, 'give me 5 mins and i'll call you back' called me back and explained the 'mix up' was the workshop managers fault for not telling me +vat but they wud let me pay the £950..
took longer than expected but im well pleased it drives superb and was worth waiting for them to get it right

Cheers lads, i picked the 200tdi up yesterday, all seems good cept for hub seal on the back....thort about selling the v8 and using the 200 untill i drove it back, couldnt sacrafice the power and comfort... it drives sounds and looks like a tank but its great
