Hello everyone ,
I finally purchased my dream car this past spring .
A 110 TD5 2005 . The car had lots of black fumes coming out of the exhausts which was very annoying. We changed the debit meter . Did not make any dfce . We checked all the filters and changed them . Lastly I thought it would be the ECU . The mechanic proposed to exchange ours with the one another mechanic had . It made all the difference and no fumes . He was supposed to reset ours and keep it. After a couple months he called last night saying that he could not reset ours and we had to swap back . I am very upset about this and have no idea on how to fix my ECU that I will get back. Should I just get a new one ? Our mechanic said they cost about 3000€. On the net many people said they got there's for about 50/700€ used . What would you suggest I should do ? THANKS A LOT

Welcome Aboard :)..

This is the intro section where you introduce yourself, and hopefully put a few pictures of your LR..;)

However, I see the frustration in your post, so, .. In the UK, ECU's can be repaired, and there must surely be someone in Italy who specialises in this ... It's a known issue on the TD5's - which your mechanic should be aware of - if not, perhaps a more specialist garage is a way forward ? :)
