early td5 headlights in a 300

Looked but cant find an answer,

Apart from the black line around them, Whats the difference between the early td5 disco headlights and the facelift 300 disco1 lights?

I know I can fit them to mine but will they make any difference to night driving visibility?

Yes they are better, they have a better focussed beam pattern.

Are they? I've had both in mine and not "seen" any changes.

They look good.

With the D2 headlamps there's more to it than just the black edge.
The lamp is still the same glass unit of the D1 but now with the black edge band and on the rear of the band it's chrome, and therefore the theory is that any stray light from the edges of the lamp are redirected into the lamp giving a increase of light.

One of the 700 "improvements" the D2 had on the D1

just had a quick look and:

Not for me obviously and maybe legit but the cheap price and the relatively new join date got me suspicious, oh and the ZERO feedback of course.

Having a quick scan they seem to be in the region of between £60-£80 which is more than I thought tbh Disco 1 post facelift are about £40-£50 a pair by the look of things.
