Hi all, have a 2000 disco 2 with a dash full of warning lights staring at me.
Drove through some road flooding (not megga deep) at approx 20mph, 2 miles down the road warning lights TC, ABS and hill descent all bing at me.
I crawl home and during journey handbrake, and 2 other warning lights regarding manual raising and lowering of suspension decide to flash on too.
The latter 3 reset themselves, but have flashed on 3-4 times since over the past week, the first 3 have been on constant.
I did however take the car to my local land rover specialist (not dealer) the following morning.
They couldn't get the car to talk to the computer to analyse the faults, they checked the fuses, nothing amiss.
Day after boxing day so they didn't have time to spend long with me, the gist is, they think I've saturated the suspension pump and have suggested I wait to see if it will dry itself out.
Having scanned through previous posts regarding non-working suspension pumps, no-one has mentioned any warning lights (i believe they are referred to as the 3 amigos?)
Lady driver and just expected my car to drive through water no probs, I was told "read the handbook" and "you can't drive your particular model through deep puddles/water"
Any suggestions greatly received, I'm either looking at a new pump or converting to springs :(

yes - dont drive thru water at 20MPH!

your motor is full of electrics which dont like water. chances are yu have fried something important/expensive.

if seven seater don't go to springs insurance problems try and dry and clean everything.

Had the car nearly 4 years and love it. Just regret posting on the forum for help now, but thankyou for your polite response.

Fwiw I don't think it is your suspension pump. I think the clue is in the fact that the garage couldn't communicate with the Electronics. You need to check every ECU for water ingress. Find someone with a proper diagnostics. Where are yu based?

Wigan, had took it to Landrangers in Atherton, they service and maintain it for me. They usually are pretty good.

Hi there, the first thing I would say is that your Land Rover specialist don't know what they are talking about ! They also don't have LR-specific diagnostic equipment so in my opinion they are NOT an LR specialist.

The first thing to consider is that the "Three Amigo's" and the rear air suspension systems are completely separate, for the purposes of this diagnosis.

1. If the air suspension is staying up correctly, operates correctly with the "ORM" button on the dashboard to raise the rear suspension, then there is no problem with the air compressor (pump), it is working as it should.

2. Now moving onto the ABS, Hill-descent and Traction Control lights. These systems all work through the braking system, so that's where the problem will lye.

Working on the assumption that this is the first time these lights have shown themselves - after this dunking - then I would say you need to
have the system interrogated by a dedicated LR diagnostic unit such as Nano EVO or Hawkeye. This will give some reasonable idea as to the location of the problem. Go to the D2BoysClub forum to find someone local enough to you, to help you.

Then follow the abs cables and check each connecter associated with the system. Pull them apart, spray them with WD-40 to remove moisture then spray with connect cleaner and leave to dry. Re-assemble and check functioning.

The majority of the time the "Three Amigo's" are tripped by chafed cables, bad connectors and worn wheel hub bearings.

Cheers

Dave
