Yes, I'm afraid I used the wrong socket and not C0664, it was only when I removed the BCU today did I realise my mistake, my apologies for giving you the wrong information

C0664-7 is most definitely dead with the ignition on (and off), as per your advice I've printed off the front windows wiring diagram. I will check the feed to C0664-7 from source and report back, thanks again.

no worries, it happens, just concentrate to make the right measurements on the right pins by corroborating the connector view with pin disposals and wire colours(the colour codes are described in RAVE - Electrical library - introduction) ... a wrong measurement can lead you in the wrong direction and make you work in vain

As I said, I would work from source. The culprit was FL8 in the engine fusebox, it hadn't blown but the act of removing it and reinserting it did the job. I will replace it just to be on the safe side but at least I now have working front windows. Yesterday I would quite happily have set fire to it, today is different. Land Rovers really do take you to the limit at times but then forgive . Thanks for your patience and expert advice, if I lived in Transylvania I would buy you a pint of blood or whatever it is you drink :p. Thanks.

:)...i'm glad it's sorted though i hope it's not something coincidental cos FL8 would affect other things too not just the windows that's why i've asked about that in one of the first posts here... but it seems that LR works in mysteious ways:p, or as i said before there's some bodge in it...never mind as long as it's working and congratulations for your insistence in finding the fault
