Driver side wing mirror

When I engage reverse it dips. However when I then engage Drive instead of going back up ..it dips lower!! Then when I go back to park the thing dips even lower!! I know it will go up as I can do up down left right ok no problem...I am not over tech minded all pins (12) look fine ..What am I doing wrong ??? I would be Greatfull for Any help Thank you ...

Well yes I could just unplug it, but I want it working as it has for the last 12 years I have had it...Made sure its the right wing mirror (12 pin for the Anniversary model) .Also yes went through the settings a few times to make sure, even checked the handbook in case I did it wrong...However I did do it right. Just keeps dropping in reverse drive and park instead of returning to the drive position?? I know I could just raise it myself but would like it working right if poss.. Any other thoughts?

Just had another go (ffs) now it go's up a little in reverse and then back down....to driving position...Something wrong somewhere. I am thinking if I change the inside bits of the new mirror over for the inside bits of the old one would it work?? Or change the connector from the mirror over for the old one ?? I know its minor but like things working as should...Also if the vertical pot is no good would they still go up down left right manually ?
