I started using the old 1.8s again this week after it being sorned over the summer. I fitted a window cable replacement months ago and its been fine, using it a few times when moving the car about. Other day I put the window down to clear the water off it and crunch - 1 broken regulator

Then today I started it 1st thing and it was very slow to turn over but did start, made a mental note to check the battery as the cold last night must have affected it but then forgot  Used the car all day with many stops/starts, got back and parked up at home, went out 5 minutes later to move the car and find the battery is dead  at least it happened at home though. The battery is fecked but the alternator is working fine.

Luckily the battery from my TF fits so its in for now.

On the plus side I filled up with petrol again after brimming the tank earlier in the week and its doing 30 mpg
