I recently purchased a set of genuine LR side steps off ebay. These are chrome tube variety.

They have all the fittings except the nuts to fix to the chassis. Can anyone tell me what size and thread these are?

can you not just measure the holes and get nuts and bolts to fit, or do you want one of us to get under our disco so you don't have to get dirty and wet

I understood from having a brief look, that they fixed to the existing subframe bolts which are already in place. As there is only the thread is showing, I thought id ask... that was all. No fear of dirt or lack of willingness to get under the disco.

The same size threads as the bolts yu intend to fit :)

As post above, if it is a simple as just using a set of nuts and bolts, then clearly its gonna be easier than I thought and I would not have posted the above. But when I offered them up, it seemed to be more what I have posted above. I'll have another look I think.

Having had a quick check now I can see my problem. I am missing the four extending bolts that bolt onto the existing chassis threads. These seem a fairly bespoke part, so guessing I'll have make something.

Yeah, its the ones closest to the step as you can see on that diagram. It links on to existing exposed bolt threads.

On the land rover parts list, its the ones that are 97mm and 83mm long.

how about some studding from B&Q?

I could not get my head round how to connect two the threaded parts, but a quick check of the net on studding components and I can see exactly what I need.

Cheers much appreciated. It will be a walk in the park now!:tea:
