Mr Noisy, sorry to pee you off mate, not my intention. Just need to find some descent tyres now. Have looked at several makes that I really can't tell the difference and my mind has gone

Matt,

Either day is fine. Regarding the tank guard, once I get the model done (so need measurements first) I will organise laser cutting and welding etc and plan to do half a dozen or so to make the money back. I have seen some similar to Marks for £170 but reckon there is scope for doing them for half that. Plus HD bumper addition. I also have a 180amp welder at the moment which I welded my balcony up with and that was 6mm angle.

I also want to work up a gearbox and handbrake protector. Let's talk at the weekend and hatch a plan.

Now where can I find some tyres

I'm not feeling peed off dude, no worries.

What tyres do you want?

BFG all terrain? They're awesome and look wonderful but are expensive.

Muf terrain? I'd recommend cooper, but they might be dear. Maxxis will be cheaper alongside some other similar brands.

Extreme? There is an insa turbo available in 33x12.5x15 but stock is super scarce at the minute. Also maxxis mudzilla etc.

Best bet always is second hand on eBay, search 33 12.50 15 and see what happens :)

Get In there - I fancy some of them tyres. Muf Terrain for when the bush is thick and the going gets wet :hysterically_laughi LOFL

Perhaps some BFG's have to be found - I want something that is good but looks amazing too. No point in being good in bed if she's a munter!!

HELLO SEXY PICTURES! :D

Mmmmmmm, new stuff. I remember the feeling well! (its a shame it only stays shiny for a a little while :( )

Anyway, that lot looks mega. Dude, your car is gonna be seriously top notch ****! Wheels look fine to me mate, marginally higher offset but tbh they're probably the better option. Certainly more useable.

Remember to paint your chassis. New parts require gloss chassis :D

I will be painting the chassis in a couple of weeks once everything is welded up prior to fitting the suspension. Not sure what the best paint is to use. I was thinking of
plain tetrosyl tbh

What you recommend?

Hammerite is **** these days, not as good as it used to be. It seems to be thin with poor covering power and brushes out too easily.

If you're gonna rub it down good then some japlac/international enamel would be nice cos you'll get a blinding finish.

I used a trade chassis paint under a name 'manor' that I got from our car paint supplier at work. It was about 12 quid for 5 litres. I think it'll take me my whole life to use it up!

It is basically the same paint as old style Hammerite. If you're really stuck I could get you one and post it to you!!

See what you can find anyway, you will need about 1.5 or 2 litres to do a full chassis I reckon.

Cheers

Hi Mr Noisy,

Thanks for the paint info. If I get stuck finding some then I will give you a shout. I would love to do a good job on the chassis however at this moment I have just sat down after spending 7 hours under the drivers side finishing of the quarter panel bottom and the sill and I still have the front drivers footwell to patch tomorrow. Boy am I feeling like its all slow going.

But like you say -little chunks at a time.

Cheers mate

just done a load of disco welding myself mate, watch out for the huge clump of wiring loom that trunks it's way down the wingside of the drivers footwell as it was tucked away and hardly visible on my brothers disco but right in the way of the weld from the other side.

Bigsi13,

Cheers for this chap. I am lucky - or unlucky if you like - to have stripped the interior and saw all the wiring there is also the same on the passenger side along with a few relays.

Something that not many people realise is that all the wiring is there for most additions. I have wind up windows and not much else yet all the wiring is there for electric everything.

Once again mate thanks for the warning.

no worries,I didn't strip everything and found that nothing smoulders and burns better than disco foam carpet backing:doh:

Me and my mate often have a little giggle when welding the disco because we often sing out 'burn baby burn, disco inferno' or 'fire in the disco' whilst welding.

It helps pass the time :)

Ey up pikey, the seat covers were off eBay mate, red viper bought the same ones, jus do a search. I think they were from a fella in Scotland maybe.

Cheers
