Just looked now, them ones from shropshire aren't the ones I bought. They look similar though.

The lad I bought off appears not to be selling them anymore...

They're the only ones I could find Seem to be ok though Got all the holes for the seatbelts and the side latches etc. My seats are filthy and getting a bit threadbare

Lerchers apparently rub themselves off if you're interested although beastiality is not my thing lol despite what my misses appearance would have you believe lol

Anyhow seats will have to wait cause I'm still lying underneath the car sorting the sills out.

This weekend has been a bit of a slog but finally the drivers side is finished and all the floor is patched up. Had to repair the front a pillar base as well as one little weak point eventually needed another patch, always the way.

My attention turned to the passenger side sill this afternoon (Sunday), and having done one already, this time is was a look quicker. I have it all cut out and ready for the new metal which will go in this week.

Uncle Albert, I wish I had gotten my steel at that price :) I was wondering how you fitted yours in. I have had to cut mine on the top face to make a wedge shape and it fits really snug. Did you do the same.

The only thing I am disappointed about is the height of sills. Whilst I have kept the new steel nice and neat, the bottom face is only a couple of inches below the door so there isn't much room for fitting tree sliders in the way I had planned. A new idea will have to be found. Ummmm

In terms of new things brought this weekend, well I have terrafirma heavy duty turret rings with built in dislocation cones, very nice. Also I have ordered HD spring seats and retainers.

I have also purchased lights and new grills as I am changing to the 300 style front end. Oh one bollock dropped was that I purchased -off eBay - two near side hockey stick trims so then had to buy a drivers side, bugger!

Finally I tried on my new rims - boy do they poke out from the arches. I will need some serious arch extensions so that another £140 quid :-(

All good mate :)

Observations:

Regards sliders, you may want to drop the slider height a bit anyway, to give some chassis protection. It is remarkably easy to dent the chassis!

I think it's a shame that you're putting a 300 front end on. Long live the 200, you should be proud if it, 200s are becoming quite a rare thing now.

Extended arches are a must, not just for width but because you need to cut a serious amount of bodywork away when fitting 33s. I have fitted the 50mm version, the 75s would cover the whole tyre, I still wanted a bit of poke!

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Well Mr Noisy, I hear what you're saying about the sliders. When you view the car side on, especially with the body lift, the body mount outriggers are a little exposed to damage. In some ways I am beginning to regret all the work to re do the sills with RHS just to add some bloody sliders anyway. Ah well at least it got the rust removed and strengthened the body.

I have settled on the tyres as you already know. I am getting them from paddocks. Seems I have spent sh@t loads with them recently. I have got the four shockers coming this week which is another £200.00.

Once again when I arrived home tonight another load of presents were waiting for me.

Manor chassis paint. I will need to wire brush the whole of the chassis now just to make it look descent - thanks matey.

I have received all the spring retaining gear from Brookwells 4x4. Once again all Terrafirma so I hope it's all good gear :D

Finally I have the front turret rings with front dislocation cones. In fact these are the only things i am not happy with as they don't look great. I may have to seam weld them myself and powder coat them.

Regarding the 200 front end, I get what you're saying but I had little choice really. Not only do I need a new headlight but the new headlight panels are all 300 as you cant get 200 versions. Also the newer headlights are better and brighter so I thought why not.

If its any concelation I will make sure that it is really dirty most of the time s people can't tell the difference :D

Anyhow I am praying that the weekend will be descent weather so I can get some more work done as it is not far from being sorted.

Cheers

Hi mate

Pleased to read your next chapter!!

Do you mean the YRM headlamp panels are 300 only? Thats a bit of a smeg :(

Anyway, the rest sounds brill. Pleased you tracked down that Manor paint, it's nice thick stuff, finishes very shiny and seems excellent value.

Best of luck!

Ps. When are we getting more pics?

Yeah the YRM panels are only 300. Bit of a **** but the panels are great items and worth the money.

Anyway onto something more interesting. A guy at work is heavily into modified motors and although a Beemer fan he has some great ideas and he and I often bounce 'what if' scenarios around the office. Anyhow I mentioned that my hubs are getting a little rusty as I now have the wheels off the car and I said that I might get some nice new vented discs. He then mentioned wildwood calipers. Boy they are cheap and I was thinking of six pot monsters. Could be fun!

please dont go for wilwood calipers mate they are pony
I have Mitsubishi Evo 6 Brembo calipers on my Cossy and they can be made to fit pretty much anything mate
