Discovery MK1 HD rear bumper

Got these up at £175 but LZ discount £140

Postage £18 for next day courier, bumpers will come red ox'd



Here's some pics of the skeleton of the bumper. Trim to go on tomorrow and no idea why it looks curved but it isn't as I built it checking with a level and engineers square.

These mount to the original towbar point and chassis legs with weld in tabs for serious strength 1/8th" box section body with 1/4" reinforcement bars, this will also have a removable tow hitch point and is fully compatible with my tank guards.

Will pop up a few of the completed build pics tomorrow if all goes to plan!

Oh should add this one comes with recovery eyes either side of the main section

Bumper 99% complete, couple of small cuts to make and a few bits to finish seaming together but this is a pre-production version as it were as I'll be making a few modifications in order to decrease fabrication time on the bumper such as folded sides with reenforcement bars instead of a combination of angle and plate


This one will be available for £125 OBO upon completion which includes a new set of chassis to bumper mounts, these are weld in though! Two versions are available too, one which requires cutting of the rear wheel arch in order to incorporate a slider section and a smaller version that doesn't, the smaller version will be up at £130 instead of £140

are these the ones that are going to have the swing away?

No the swing away will be made on a larger platform, this will support one though


I'll probably manage to make a swingaway one in a couple of weeks, making up a stumpy front bumper for a defender first, got a design sorted and I reckon it'll work, if no ones interested in it though it's going on my series as its had the wings cut so it'll work nicely

Just shed out £400 for hg replacement and water pump etc etc on the MG.
Bloody Rover is costing me a small fortune!

It's done in the above pics just wants painting only difference now is the welds are fully seamed instead of every other 4 inches

Should be burned before all the gaylanders

They run the same engine! Useless things should t have been made in the first place!

What's worse is he's replaced a D2 with a gaylander 2 and me mate thinks the gaylander is a good looking vehicle! Needless to say he gets ridiculed when I go visit

Will have the one in the pics going for £85 plus £18 postage, just trying to work out what recovery eyes I want to put on it before I paint the thing……...
