Hello to all
I'm new to this site and thought I should become a member as this sight with all your help has been a great help to me. I have a disco 2 td5 2003 plate which has a problem with autobox all seems fine in normal driving gears change smooth ect but when I floor it acceleration is fine no problems until it gets to high revs and then it changes up and down erratically then when I ease off its fine again. Has anyone had a similar problem and know of any fixes nanocom shows no faults kind regards Dave the builder

Wow that was quick! Thanks for your reply James I did an oil change about a month ago plus filters as per book maybe the oil is a little low I will check it during the week you don't think its kick down adjustment if there is such a thing? sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new to disco2's

disco 2 is ecu controlled no kick down, solenoids and valves can stick if box has been run on dirty oil for long periods ,when you drain and refill you only change half as the rest is locked up in torque converter and clutch pistons etc, changing of oil can bring on symptoms and sometimes like my own box it took 3 changes and a few miles to settle down ,its possible you have a mechanical fault ,black oil is a sign but sometimes there is none apart from symptoms ,in which case its cheaper to replace the box or full rebuild

Thanks for your reply again. The oil was very clean so I'm hoping for no mechanical faults (fingers crossed ) I'll change the box oil a few times over a short period and see if it helps kind regards Dave the builder
