I recently brought a new set of front calipers for my 300tdi D1. (Not yet fitted)
I've noticed today that there are 2 brake pipe entry points but obviously this only applied to the 200tdi with its dual pipe system.
My question is, have I been sent the wrong caliper or is it just a case of blanking off the redundant hole? If the latter, where can I get these blanking bolts from?

I've noticed the rear calipers have a 10mm blanking bolt as standard, but no idea why.

Front caliper:

You got the wrong ones, you need single line calipers if that's what you are replacing

Disco came in all different specs, vented, non vented, single line, dual line, ABS, non ABS you have to order the right ones:)

But surely only the 200tdi had twin brake lines. As far as I know, they simply never appeared on the 300s. Ever.
Not sure about that but 94 would have been around change over time, I always spec single line cause that's what I have on both Defenders. The 300 Disco I had was as you say single line as well and the scrap 94 200 Disco I have has dual line:)

I noticed on the old calipers that the 2nd entry point simply had the hole filled in at the bottom of the thread. I was hoping a simple blanking plug would do the trick as per that on the rear caliper (stil no idea why that is even there??), but do you think I can find them online anywhere?! No. :(

Aren't there two separate chambers ? otherwise what's the point

You would only get one set of pistons working surely:confused:

I'm really not sure. Just gonna ring Mail Order 4x4 up tomorrow (people I got it from) and see what they say.
Here's that bolt I'm referring to anyway:

rtc6777 and rtc6776 are vented caiplers for disco 1 and are twin pipe ,was yours originally solid disc as solid to come on single pipe

What I've seen via the various Forums is that vented calipers come as a dual line, not a great problem but it means that the existing single feed has to be made into two with a T piece plus an extra flexi hose for each caliper.
So a little bit of modification to the brake system required and if you search you will find this info.

All sorted over the phone today.
Simple answer is to fit single line, vented Defender calipers, so no messing about with altering brake pipes. Nice. :)
