discovery 2 td5 engine

hi can anyone help??? we have a discovery 2 and the engine block is pitted!! does this mean a replacement engine or can it be skimmed??
any help plz asap as its in garage and costing us money.

You dont normally skim the block. Its the cylinder head that can be skimmed if the company doing it know what they are about.

If the bores are pitted then I dont think it can bored as oversize pistons for the TD5 are not available to my knowledge. You may get away with honing and new rings though.

hi thanks for you reply. weve basically found out that we will have to get a new engine in it. anyone advise on a good place to get one from?? found one place on internet down in london which sounded fab but turned out they were robdogs!! glad i checked on reviews!
