Dunno. A defender with a dent on it or scratches down the side just looks used. A discovery with scratches or dents looks abused. Silly really.

Yu sayin my Disco looks abused

No really, I would love a defender as a toy but there is no way I can justify the cost. The disco is equally capable off road, cheap to buy, cheap to fix, more comfortable and in some ways more practical. many 7 seat options out there.

The 300 mechanicals are fairly bomb proof, Ok mine's an exception, it's the old tin worm you need to be aware of.

If yu don't know what to look for, make sure yu ask furst. I've seen many late 300's in worse condition than mine for rot. Don't be scared to give anything a good poke. Just ask Daft, his 'little bit of rust' has turned into an epic rebuild.

In fact by the time he puts it back on the road it'll probably be a tax exempt classic

To be honest a disco like yours that regularly goes off road MAY have less tin worm in because it gets pressure washed more often.
