disco wont rev up

as title says got a disco 2 51 plate it is runing fine but engine light is on and wont rev up the local garage has pluged it in to computer hes checked the wiring and its had a new accelerartor potetiometer thingy fuel pumps working it was just doing it occasionally but if you turned it off and back on again it would be fine and rev up now it wont its on all the time i thinkl it is definatly a electrical problem but what?

Invest in a nanocom

If the filler cap for the fuel tank isn't tight, that will cause an issue, check the handbook.

Sounds like the fuel pump might be dying also. It has to provide 50 psi all the time.

the fuel pump seems to be working though the engine light is on and u put ur foot down and nothing happens

This problem screams of the pedal potentiometer, i would check that the plug is seated correctly, make sure the wiring is not damaged in any way, if that fails then your only option is Nanocom as advised in earlier post, The only other option i can think of is the MAF sensor as a friend of mine had this problem on a Terrano and after putting in a new pedal we tried the MAF and it solved the problem.
