Disco lift kit onto Defender?

Have done a search but haven't been able to find a definitive answer. I currently own a '96 300 tdi Discovery and a '91 200 tdi Defender. The Disco has proved to rotten to economically repair for this year's MOT so I'm considering breaking it and putting all its goodies onto the 90 which I'm currently rebuilding.

Less than a year ago I fitted a Pro Comp 2" lift kit with blue bearmach springs to the disco, which I'm now considering swapping to the 90. I know the springs are the same size and the shocks are the same fitment, the only thing I'm not sure of is the spring rates. Will they go on the 90 without any major problems or will it end up jacked up too high or sitting too low? Will the extended Goodridge brake lines I've got be the right length for the 90 as well?

Also planning on eventually fitting both Disco axles for the stronger halfshafts and disc brakes on the rear. Any other parts I should consider transferring from the Disco to the 90 before I weigh it in? Want to keep the original 200 tdi motor as it's been rebuilt recently and is bombproof, but I can't think of anything else on the Disco that would be worth keeping so ideas are much appreciated.

I daresay genuine LR springs might be handed, but there wasn't any indication of the bearmach springs that came with the kit being left or right handed, only front and rear pairs. There's no markings on any of them they're just all blue. If they'll fit and will lift a 90 equally front to back and side to side that's good enough for me, if they won't I'll just use the shocks and get a cheap set of 90 lift springs.

Will only be a temporary measure anyway as I'd like to fit a Terrafirma lift kit at some point in the future, but I'm skint now so if Disco springs will work for a few months then that'll do.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I've fitted +2" bearmach blue springs off a defender 90 onto the disco with no prob. Ran it 2 years before I sold the disco. Like you said, no markings on the springs apart from the a pair being slightly taller. However, I did noticed that I didn't get the full +2", probably due to old sagged springs, or the disco being a tad heavier???? Best thing is measured the standard height as it is, then fit the springs on, and re-measure. More accurate that way. Besides, you've already got the lift kit anyway.

Ideal, just what I wanted to hear! May have to replace the front springs anyhow as the disco always sat higher at the back and settled to standard height at the front a couple of months after fitting. Thanks again.
