i can see what your saying wlm but i think the back has such little over hang that its very unlikely that it will cause a problem.
i like the look of yours but didnt really want to go down tubular route as i like the heavy duty look lol and as matt says i didnt want to raise chassis as i realy want to keep the fuel tank under neath car in its orig position,as it stands at the moment i should be able to house about a 40 litre tank in between chassis rails and save what little boot space i have :D

are u keeping rear seats?

the bumper is mounted to the body and the chassis we turned the chassis legs upwards to give a higher mounting for the bumper if that makes sense

yeah we did talk about lifting the chassis but as Mark said he needs space for wife/kids lol and maybe the dog lol
I might see if i can lift the bumper a bit an shave a little off the bottom of the chassis it'll all help!!

Back at it tonight (thur) :)
Well after much chin scratching etc weve decided to lift the bump upto the back door as it does look much better there rather than where i originally was going to put it (approx 5in lower).
The original reason to keep the bumper lower was so i would then have room to get quite a big tank underneath the car between chassis rails and therefore keep wot little boot space i have left :baby:
altho im convinced the height of the bumper wouldnt have caused a problem with departure angles it just looks so much better lifted :D.
Anyway tonight was about cutting the **** out of the boot floor and replacing.

The white stuff over weld is tigerseal, altho welding is spot on i had a tube open so decided to go over welds just incase of pin holes and rust proofing :)
next on the list was to fill in the sunroof hole and weld top of roof, again ive gone over the weld with tiger seal and obviously this will all be tidied up etc before paint :)

The final job was to cut a V into chassis rails so i could bend them up to the correct height to take the bumper, body mounts etc

Looks a lot better at the 'right' height .. ;)

Whilst you're there with easy (ish) access, obviously it can't be refitted with the ARB's anyway, so I'd suggest you remove all traces of them from the chassis and axle ... When mine went through the last MOT I'd forgot to put them back on and it failed! Where a vehicle originally has AntiRollBars fitted it must have them to pass, apparently!

'course, if you have a 'tame' or friendlt mot man this might be a moot point.

Dunno if others have had this issue or whether it's just me they dislike ...

liking that. this is another to do for mine. good work and progress there. are you going to put fuel tank behind rear seats? excuse my dumbness cos i'm new to the land rover scene, and imo if you don't ask then you don't learn.

Well whilst I was there to help cut and measure (I like destroying things!) I can't take any credit for the build and just wanted to say what a nice job you guys have done.

I am sure that you will love the fact that the rear sunroof has gone so just the front one left to weld up!

Well done!!!

Hi all
Thanks for ya input :)
Paul,u are bang on the money,if the mounting points etc are on the car then ARB must be fitted, but if there are no mounts it will pass.
Luckily enuf,my brother (Matt) who is doing most of the work lol,is an mot tester :D
So the ARB will be dealt with.cheers

Bigred,Still working on fuel tank at mo.
Still hoping and trying to do something underneath car between chassis rails as the boot is very small now as it is :)

Hi there Mr Hornet
Not gonna bother with front sunroof yet as still got quite abit to do so it's just gonna get tiger sealed for now :)
Cheers for ya help mate.
C ya mon night ;)
