Cheers, both paints where satin, the green was proper mod paint and the black came from Epaintbay on eBay,wouldn't use it again tho as the black is complete crap,
It's not great and looks more Matt than satin and the mud stains it.

Absolutely loved reading this project, I'm starting mine tomorrow which our lass isn't to happy or hopeful about the whole ordeal but she knows me well and will try my hardest to get it done. Anyways onto the question, I've been looking at mine and if I'm going to take about 16 - 17" of the back and cut the chassis a wee bit, where does the rear body mounts end up ? I'm putting a 2" body lift all round and thought if I chop and shunt ill loose the rear body mounts won't I ? Help please :)

have a look at the last post on page 5 the mount I made up is shown in the middle pic, I used the new rear bumper mountings in the chassis.

hth matey and good luck with it not that you'll need it as its really not that hard, oh and don't forget to stick up a thread with plenty of pics!!!!

but you can see all we did was chop a bit of small box section up weld it the x member of the body and then bolted through the chassis

Lrdisco93,16-17 seems quite a lot as think we only ended up taking about 14 off of mine (sure Matt will correct me if I'm wrong lol) and tbh I wouldn't want to go much shorter as this has allowed for a very steep departure angle etc and the other thing to bear in mind is your boot space and where you are going to put fuel tank.
As I said I think we took about 14 off and I have a very small boot but it is useable and I wanted to avoid chucking fuel tanks/cans in boot so removing this has allowed is to fit a small custom made tank underneath where the original was, holds about £40 of diesel.
Also, another thing we didnt do is make 2cuts down each side of body, when u measure out and mark out your cuts make sure you try to leave an overlap to work with when u put body back together as this will give u a lot more options than we had.
Hope this helps and good luck with build and as Matt says, lots of pics : )

If I were to bobtail mine, which I'm not planning on, it'd also have the rear seats taken out, so it's then all boot .. They're only on a few bolts anyway, so could easily be replaced if the locking latch etc were left in place .. ;)

16-17" imo is a tad much but its yr motor obviously
mine hasn't had a massive amount taken off it but rear seats removed and racked out for storage and hooge fuel tank
