Having got a fairly corrosion free Disco, I would like to try and keep it that way.
The back door is the worst bit, blistered along the bottom edge, the back door on my old disco was really bad,and I don't want this to go the same way.
I understand the electrolytic reaction,I know where the water gets in,but I dont know what sort of paint / chemical that will stop it. I thought of zinc chromate, anybody had any success with that ?
Basically I want to sand down, passivate ,prime and repaint, any one got a tried and proved solution ?
There has to be a way of stopping the rot, hasn't there ?
Cheers

you need so sand it back to bare aluminium then coat it with yacht varnish let that dry for a couple of days then key it up with a scotchbrite pad then just prime and paint

i did it for a mate on his disco rear wheel arches the blisters never came back i nstill dont know if they came back or not coz the landy was nicked 4 years after i did it for all i know it could still be right now
