Door locks

Could someone please give me a rundown on how the door locks on my 14 Freelander?
1. When I set off the whole car makes a door locking sound which I presume is it deadlocking all doors. Is there a way to switch that off if I need to? Does the deadlock lock the boot door too? If I have unlocked all the doors for whatever reason and I'm inside and want to quickly lock all the doors, how can I do that manually?

2. Every time I get out of the car and go to the back, the rear doors are locked and I have to press once or twice to unlock them. How can I switch that locking off so they're open when the front doors are unlocked?

I'm not familiar with the 13 MY onwards models, but it should all be in the handbook.

On my 2009MY drive away locking modification is a dealer job, or a suitable coder which I have and used it to remove the stupid function myself.

Mine has a lock and unlock button on the centre switches, which I would assume the later models also have?

Was point (2) of your OP ever resolved? We have the same issue on our new/old 2012 FL2.

Looks like a new door latch is required.
