disco auto m s problem in reverse

Hi, anyone know what may be causing my discovery 2 auto td5 03reg m s lights to flash when reverse is selected. Once restarted lights go out and drives forward ok. [only comes on when in reverse]

Most likely a WXYZ switch problem,but could also be caused by the aforementioned's loom chafing on the back of the transfer box.

removed xyz switch, drilled a 2mm hole in bottom of switch[big enough to take spray can nozzle tube] Spayed with electrical cleaner. Put a small self tapper in 2mm hole. Refitted switch. No m s lights. If they do come back on i will renew the xyz switch.
