The only reasion a fuse blows is because of a short circuit.
Next time it happens remember what what was happening prior to it blowing, that may be a clue of where to look. :)

No it aint!

the main reason a fuse blows is too many currants are being drawn thru it - it could be a high initial surge or it could be a short circuit, or it could be a component failure or it could be a worn wire or it could be somone has added an "extra" bit of kit on that circuit.

Fuses also rupture through old age due to being subject to surges in current over the years which progressively weakens them.
A 10A fuse can carry more than 10A for a short period without blowing but it doesn't do it any good in the longer term if repeated now and again.

Don't rule out the alarm spider having a dry board. Spider faults are common especially when going over bumps. I've also come across 300tdi's which have the bit of the spade missing (or damaged) that grips the male of the solenoid. This results in it rattling about when going over bumpy ground and then blowing the fuse.
