Disco 2 new autobox

Hi All.............Well I have had my discovery now 4 weeks and still learning all the time. I have had new fuel filters / air filter / oil filter etc all done last week & it seems to be running fine other than 1 little problem.

Especially on a morning when cold it seems to be holding in 3rd gear a bit longer than I would expect it to,if I speed up it will finally slip into 4th but to be honest that takes me above the 30mph speed limit.

I have also had a look at some of the service bills which I finally got off the garage and noticed a whopping bill in their for over £1200 quid this was for the following

Gearbox auto ZF 4 speed
x 2 auto pipe auto coolers
temp switch
oil seal
ATF/ltr 11 litres
EP90 transmission oil

all this work was carried out in May 2010.

Would I be right in assuming that these auto cooler pipes are the ones that you have to keep an eye on because they are prone to going ??

Would it be unlikely that my auto gearbox oil would need changing because of this work that was carried out ?? or would anyone suggest I change it.......could this be the reason it holds onto 3rd a bit long.

the gear boxes do that ,till warm, pipes can leak but its not that common ace pipes on drivers side chassis can be more of an issue and need protecting ie waxoyl

Many thanks I have noticed the thing runs much better when warm.

All the new auto box etc was fitted in May 2010 , surprisingly I have all the old MOT's and it has only covered 25,000 mile since the new box, ....could anyone advise if transmission fluid should be changed or left alone.

id change fluid one a year on average miles , then change filter ever 2 or 3 ,youd need 5 litres of atf dexron 2 or 3 to change gear box oil
