i dont know if anyone believes in coincidences but let me roll this one past you. my daughter has a zafira dad the key fob wont lock the doors. i changed the battery still not working fob must be up the shute i said. short while later went to unlock my td5 with the key fob . it wouldnt work pressed unlock about 20 times it unlocked. tried to lock it took about 20 presses to lock it. tried locking and unlocking it for about 20 minutes allways the same only seemed to work now and again. i noticed there was a van outside of the house 3 doors down the road with mobile mechanic on the side i said to the mechanic your not doing anything with alarms on that car are you he said no im trying to sort out why its not charging. went back to my td5 about 15 mins later my key fob was working fine. 10 mins later my daughter returned home i said go and try your key fob . she said i dont need to its working fine now ??????????????????????????????

433 is such a bad choice of frequency for these things, the other problem is the regen receiver design, it's as wide as barn door so any transmission anywhere near 433.92 will block fobs. All sorts of transmissions can block them from domestic weather stations to amateur radio repeaters, 2w on 435MHz is enough to block every key fob in a very large supermarket car park! Not much you can do about it really other than move out of the radio field, not so easy if you're locked out! And all this to save a quid over a 457MHz superhet design reciever.
