Thanks here goes
1 tried sync spare it started engine no problem.
2 The was not locked so just opened the door and alarm went off, tried main key same result, stopped the alarm by using key in door.
3 Unfortunately I did not try to use fob to lock door.
the nano said the key was synced so I thought that was it.
It seems as if the ecu/bcu is ignoring the fobs.
Is there a way to get nano communicating, the lights on dash come up but engine is immobilised.
Cheers Terry

but before that did the fob work?

if no fob works the only way to remobilise it is to introduce the EKA code...as long as it's immobilised there's no way to comunicate with the BCU... as you have nanocom i hope you checked your EKA code cos it's doable(not when immobilised) ... you can get the EKA from a L.R. main dealer free if you proove you are the owner

it would have been good to ask some guidance here before you got into BCU settings:mad:

by the way... after you locked with the key did you try to unlock with the fob and still no joy? ...insist with the fobs to lock/unlock if you dont know the EKA... maybe you are lucky, and if you are and get communication with the BCU read the EKA(or change it as you wish)... and take this in consideration too http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/recommendation-d2-owners-184078.html

my one is at it now, it's an 03, been out in it today, no problems.
then the Mrs went to get something out and the key fob wouldn't work.
she unlocked it with the key and the alarm went off, I went out tried both key fobs but neither worked.
got in and turned the ignition on with the key and she started fine.
now neither key fob works so you have to lock it with the key, but when you unlock the alarm goes off but the key will still start it ?
I don't have any diagnostic kit, so unless there's a reset I can do, I'm guessing it's a trip to a specialist ?
can anyone help ?

just been back out,
you have to unlock the door with the key, the alarm goes off.
you have to wait about 10-15 seconds for the alarm to stop, then it will start with the key.

That correct as the alarm is voltage sensing activating of the central locking causes a voltage drop. As both fobs are not working it's a good bet that remote sensor above the head lining is faulty, it's not unknown and one of LRs 700 improvements over the previous disco. :(
