Hi ,
on my td5 one of the rear ACE pipes that go to the actuator is leaking from the joint between the steel section and the flexible hose. Im i correct in assumiing this is a crimped connection. The pipes do not look old and only have very light surface corrosion. They are an expensive part for what they are at 100 odd quid. Could this be re crimped ?

No.

Replace as necessary.

Not sure about you but I don't see a high pressure hydraulic pipe at £100+ as expensive, now if you had said £300+ then I might agree.

You can cut out all the flexible section, go to a shop where they are making hydraulic pressure hoses and and ask for proper lenght hose with fittings both sides as to connect it to the metal pipes with compression fittings, something like the pipes for the valve block in the following images but with same connector both sides if you see what i mean ... that block was machined to accept those hoses cos it leaked through the seals and the metal pipes which were cut will be connected to them...though IMO the best is to go with one piece of hydraulic hose from the block to the actuator then it's rust free for life... i'm sure you get what's about

I replaced all 4 ram pipes with hydraulic hose.

I had fractured flanges where the pipes entered the block.

My advice is get a block from a breaker convert that then swap the lot.
