Hi guys,

Starting to think about repairs to the rear quarter panels of my Disco where the dreaded mud flap metal has corroded with the aluminium rear quarter panels.

Has anyone had these panels repaired and if so, what sort of price did you pay? Was this for a section to be cut out and replaced or the whole panel replaced?

Also, the sills, both left and right on the rear doors are starting to go. Is it worth getting them replaced or just getting them patched up? Again, what sort of price might I expect for full repair?

Sorry for all the questions! Just looking for some advice!

James.

Just buy a strip of 50mm x 2mm ally strip from B&Q or similar and drill and poprivet it to the bottom of the panel. I know it's a bit of a swear word on here but you can buy chequer plate protectors on Ebay that are designed for just this problem. As for the mudflap bracket get a length of steel flat bar and bend to suit.

i had a sheet of chequer plate conviniently tucked behind my shed so made some covers myself,
just took my time, only did the back quater panel upto the black trim,
an if i say so mesel, it looks good,
so slap some chequer plate on it mate,
i think it looks good if no fecker else does
an as for the sills get a good welder to sort 'em for ya
