Hi I don’t know if this is the right place to post but here goes.
Changed my defenders rear half shafts because of a clunk. Clunk still there so replaces rear diff with NEW diff. Now when I decelerate “off the gas” there is a noise akin to geared braking and a slight constant whine at 50-70 mph. So new half shafts and hub drives and new diff. It’s the rear one by the way. I got a 2.4 2008 Puma . I believe all gearing in defender diffs are the same? Can’t really tell where the noise is coming from other than below. No noise until I changed the diff. Pre loads set wrong maybe? Anyone with any ideas? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
