Diff lock adjustnent

Hi all,

Been fitting the linkage for the diff lock and having issues getting it adjusted proper. There doesn't seem to be enough travel for the lever to engage the notches at each end. The lever moves back and to but doesn't quite reach each end. Is this actually an issue?

On the lever on top of the box at full travel the lever clunks or nothces into position, I can adjust to get one going fully but then the other is miles out
