HELP !!!!!

Can anyone help me, Diagnostic code 1612.1 (invalid code)

I have a Yreg Freelander TD4, which has had loadsa mechanical problems over the last year, it's been 1 thing after another - and has cost me a small fortune (even though I have an AA Warranty).

Anyway - after it's last stint in the garage I had hoped that things would be OK but alas after about a week I broke down yet again -this time lack of power & my engine diagnostic light came on, so I called the RAC who solve my POWER problem but couldn't reset the fault code.

I then took it to my usual 4x4 specialist garage to see if they could reset it but alas they couldn't either - and they charged me £35 + £35 labour costs... for nothing??

Has anyone any idea what the code is and how it can be reset ??

thanks
Mark

Can't see why it wont reset, unless of course the fault is still there! Take it to a specialist who has Autologic for example, get a detailed diagnostic. Not all equipment will clear all manufacturer specific faults.
Did the RAC mention what they did? Burst hose? Fuel pump? Fuel filter?
Rob.

Chances are there is not even a code logged.Your garage is obviously not using LR friendly kit,I often see this where codes get read by garages and when I check them with Testbook there is nothing wrong - just that the generic scanners cant read things properly,or log faults for things that are not even fitted in that application. If the car is running well I would leave it alone, its only certain faults that can put the Mil lamp on or restrict engine output.
