defender covert to commercial

Hi Guys, newbie here how simple is the conversion from 5 door defender to commercial, also where could i find suicide windows?

WTF are suicide windows man?

The little triangular ones on the leading edge on either side of the side panels.

right if you want a full commercial body you gonna need a new tub and sides and rear bulkhead. the tub is the fiddly bit your gonna get very dirty and invent new swear words but its all nuts n bolts.
also find sides that already have side wondows in. saves you cutting ou the hole to fit them.

cheers man, have all the kit already(given to me) just needed to know basically if body mounts are same to chassis as with the 5 door or do i need to add some sort of extra body mounts to chassis, one i have does not have the windows and know they are available but not a clue where.

why would you want to convert from a csw to a van? Most people want to convert the other way around. Sell the csw and buy a van. You'll even end up with more money in your pocket too as csw's are worth more than vans.

also you will have probs re registering it as a commercial,and the insurance company will be a pain in the arse.

Does sound like a major faff.
The insurance thing would put me off.

Live in Uganda, no issues with registration bollocks, family vehicle is a toyota land cruiser 100 (i know!) company car no choice, want to convert the defender for towing(boat) purposes and need allot of space for all the camping gear and other crap (fuel etc...) usually only a mate and i that go fishing so two seater no problem.

take the back seats out of it, blank off the rear windows, keep the windows in the rear passenger doors and you have your "commercial" 110 with the option of returning it to standard. rear passenger doors will give you easier access to your gear and will also give you options for installing creative storage areas in the rear footwells!
