Hope this may help if anyone has been having the same problems as we have.
Been having a few problems with loss of power under load/high speed and a over boost problem
We today during a service found the front pipe to manifold loose, tightened up and took for test drive, it ran like a pig no power and into limp mode at 50, so I then loosened the front pipe and it ran a lot better so all pointed at blocked cat.
I decided to remove the cat and mid section and remove the guts of the cat, so with the help of a 3 foot bar and hammer knocked the inners out of it. Once refit then what a difference up one of the hills near home flying up at 50 and accelerating in top instead of having to drop into 3 and going into limp mode before the top.
As the exhaust looks just like a standard system there will be no problems at mot time.
And best of all no cost except a bit of time.

:)Hi,
I'm considering doing exactly the same.
As a matter of interest how many thousand miles does it take to choke the cat?
Well done and don't worry in the least about the MOT - my local tester told me it will make no odds.

I have 95k on the clock, and whilst you do not need a cat for the mot emisions, the examiner could fail it for not having the correct exhaust system on it as he will know it should have a cat, thats why de-gutting is better than a bypass pipe as they can not tell.
