Daytime Running Lights Preface-lift

Bought myself an LED daytime running light strip with sequential indicator function.

just wondering how best to wire it up. believe I can wire the indicator wire straight to the back of the indicator bulb or does that have to spur into the indicator fuses?

what’s a constant / switched live I can use to power the DRL? Or which fuse can I spur into so they’re on while the ignition / engine is on?!

Is this for a Disco 2?
You can buy an #XBL100200 DRL resistor for the Disco 2 and install it behind the LH headlight.

I’m looking to install LED sequential Turn signal with DRL.
isn’t this resistor for changing your headlights into daytime running lights without rear lights on??

Yes. That is correct. No rear lights on.

I’m going to extend off one of the fuses with a 15a fuse for my live for the daytime runners to be on with ignition.
Then going to T Crimp off the indicator wires and attach the sequential indicator wire to those that way then just earth to the bodywork.

I wouldn’t earth to the bodywork, Land Rovers in general aren’t known for their good earths.

Simple when u have the control unit.
I have the strips fitted with DRL function only, just three connections, both battery posts and an ignition controlled supply, so simple.
The CU required for your DRL strips will have the additional function to remove the DLR illumination and switching to the amber on the side thats indicating.
So why not purchase a CU similar to mine (link below) which also have the function to change over from DRL to the amber indication. Note: most do but some do not.
Termination instructions come with the CU.
It always good electrical practice to use a suitable local fuse with any additional circuit wiring, 5amp is ok for LED DRLs plus protect any exposed wiring as necessary.

Same principle to the dim-dip system that was fitted to some D1s for the UK market but was never a legal requirement for that market, turn on the side lights and the dip also switched on but with a lower power illumination.
It made my bright LED side light bulbs look very naff, so I just pulled the plug from the resistor, been like that for years now.
