I have a 1.5m breaker bar and an extremely fat friend, he makes Jeff Capes look like he's got anorexia.
As yet, this combo has never failed. All it costs me is a bag of Donuts. Bargain;)

Mike
Sounds like the donuts are an investment in case of future fat-requirement.

Just to let you know I'm not dead!
What with working notice at my old company and then starting at the new one I have hardly been near the car for months (apart from clambering around it in the garage).
Decided that to get things moving again I'm going to get a local mobile tech to do the pump/belts and then I can MOT and actually drive it. That'll get my mojo up and I'll be up and at it again.

Hello there.
I know the feeling, after replacing the chimney etc, the wife's now got me decorating, replacing radiators, building wardrobes and working down a very long list.
The Freelander keeps giving me dirty looks through the dirt that's all over it.
Ah well, I'm sure we'll find some time in the new year:rolleyes:
Mike
P.s merry Christmas and all that:p

You too. Work really does get in the way sometimes!

Take a look here for recommendations if you don't know any mobile techs. They'd have a job like that done in no time.

Well, after getting stuck and then being out of action due to work I am back on it.
Getting the engine mount bots out was a PITA and to this day only one has come out. The other snapped my breaker bar and has not budged.
I'm going to take the whole mount off (both halves) and split them in comfort - having to use an extension to get on the big top bolt makes it hard to apply adequate thrudge without the socket coming off the head.
So I'm moving again - metaphorically if not literally, and glad to be back.

So...

I got the whole thing off but still can't shift the bolt as I don't have a suitable vice (just alcohol and Land Rovers).

Other PITA is that the plug cap on cylinder 4 has slightly disintegrated leaving loads of bits of plastic around the plug and wedged at the bottom of the plug well.

That hand is far to clean for a LR owner. :p

:D
See the glove in the first picture. That is my "mustn't get ****e on the posh phone" hand.
I wear similar gloves all the time but the cotton bits get soaked in oil and grease in short order so that my hands get dirty just putting them on. :(
And of course I'm too tight to chuck them out.
